Caramelised Onions

Ingredients

-Olive oil

-3 large red or white onions

-2 tbsp brown sugar

-100ml water

Method

-Slice the onions and put in an oiled frying pan over a low heat. Cover with a lid and leave for 15 minutes. Stir occasionally to prevent the onions from sticking to the pan.

-After roughly 15 minutes, add 2 tbsp of brown sugar and 100ml water to the pan. Stir and leave in the lidded pan over low heat for a further 10-15 minutes till there is no water remaining ad the onions are tender and caramelised.

-Enjoy on burgers, sandwiches, steaks etc.
